Project Selection and Approval Policy
Purpose of the Project Selection and Approval Policy
To describe the process for collaborating with Rx-SafeNet on research projects and to delineate the roles of individuals involved.
Process for Collaborating with Rx-SafeNet on Project Ideas
Click here to see how projects “flow” through the network.
- All project ideas should be submitted to the Network Manager using the “Project Idea Submission Form”. The Project Idea Submission Form is available by request. Please send an email request to rx-safenet@purdue.edu to obtain a copy. Completed forms may also be returned to rx-safenet@purdue.edu or faxed to 317-880-0568.
- Individuals involved in the initial review of project ideas submitted are the Executive Committee comprised of the Network Director, Network Manager, the Community Pharmacy Initiatives Project Manager and the Medication Safety Research Fellow. These individuals review project ideas to ensure that projects fit Rx-SafeNet’s mission and can be successfully carried out with the resources available.
- Rx-SafeNet Site Coordinators are the designated individual at each pharmacy that will receive correspondence from the network staff regarding project opportunities. These individuals will be contacted immediately following the preliminary review of project ideas to determine whether enough Rx-SafeNet members are interested in the project so that it is appropriate to move forward.
- After choosing to move forward with a project, the project principal investigator will be notified that their grant proposal should be submitted to the Project Mentoring Team for review and comment and that the PMT will require 2 weeks to review the proposal (see Project Mentoring Team policy). The team consists of Purdue faculty with community practice research expertise and two practicing pharmacists with community practice expertise.
